As mentioned previously, my group got moved upstairs to new cubicleage. In the process, they swapped in a nice standing desk unit, on the right, which can easily rise up and down to any designed height. Spiffy!
A (vertically) movable desk is far superior to any fixed desk. I have spent years of my working life standing and years sitting. Now I have painful varicose veins and I get out of breath going up even one flight of stairs. Despite daily cardio exercise.
Well, I plan on holding onto it as long as I can, even after my sciatica is (to be hoped) resolved, and to slip positions back and forth between morning and afternoon.
