Okay, I love Mucha, but I LOVE Parrish

Not one of my favorite pieces, but in general, Maxfield Parrish makes me grin like an idiot.

Today we celebrate the birthday of the American artist Maxfield Parrish, who was born on July 25th in 1870. This is his Dream Castle in the Sky, painted in 1908, about 10 years after Mucha painted his Seasons. While the style is different, we can still recognize the influence of Art Nouveau, in the romanticized treatment.

Donald's first impulse is *always* to shoot the messenger of bad tidings. Suggest that the Dear Leader has no clothes? That he's made a mistake? That he's not the most popular kid in the room? Then you're a liar. A phony. A failure. Ugly. Stupid. Unpopular. Radical. Criminal. Traitorous.
