Is the Old 52 DC Universe coming back?

Alas, no. Or not really. But this particular image (which I didn't read because I'm not reading the DC book it was in) made my heart skip a bit.

It does seem that DC is teeing up the Old DCU as just one of the various Earths across the multiverse, which it a bit of a tease but also a neat way of addressing things.

I think in general I prefer Marvel's Benign Eliding of Continuity over the decades to DC's regular "Let's reboot everything". The original Crisis on Infinite Earths was one thing. But I've made no secret of my particular loathing of DC's New 52, largely because it was done less to clean up continuity and storytelling as much as to recast the feel of the whole DCU to be more grimdark and serious and mean and "mature" (in a teen/twenties video-game playing fanboy way). Most of the actual creative decisions in the New 52 were ones I simply disliked. If being willing to admit that the Old 52 still exists out there somewhere is a sign that DC might be tacking away from the DiDio / Lee redesign of the DCU, even tonally, it's a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

But, man, I miss the old Harley, Teen Titans, Blue Beetle, Legion, Captain Marvel, Justice Society — heck, even the Big Blue Boy Scout with his red underwear on the outside.
