This is a show +Margie Kleerup and I have enjoyed all through its run, though this past season was a bit more dodgy (having resolved the series-long metaplot, mostly lost a couple of key cast members, and moving the setting elsewhere). Still an enjoyable show, but it's not surprising they're wrapping things up. At least they get a half-season to draw the story to a close.

IIRC they were planning on ending the show after last season, but fans wanted more, so they gave us one last season.
+Asbjørn Grandt I'd previously heard that Rigsby and Van Pelt weren't planning on coming back if another season was done (which makes sense), and that it was an iffy proposition for renewal.
