This movie gets worse every time I see it. Dubious on earlier viewings (http://letterboxd.com/three_star_dave/film/wild-wild-west/), it isn't even aging well. Argh. For something loosely (in a "post-apocalyptic mutant offspring" fashion) based on a TV show I loved, this one makes me both slightly nauseous and deeply, deeply disappointed.
A ★½ review of Wild Wild West (1999)
Sadly, this movie gets worse every time I [am compelled to] watch it. Its fleeting moments of humor (mostly the verbal byplay between West and Loveless) and fun are overwhelmed by incoherent writing, slipshod FX, mean-spirited jokes, utterly wasted talent, and a general sense of “Okay, this is everything that is wrong in Hollywood today” (or, at least, 15 years ago).
Yeah I was pretty outrageously meh on that. Everything just seemed so… pointless and dumb and out of place.
+Dave Hill I'm seeing your problem: "worse every time I see it." Hint: If a movie is really that bad the first time, don't keep watching it for more data points. :-p
+Greg Stockton It was … +Kay Hill's turn to pick, and I was feeling indulgent having chosen Judgment at Nuremberg previously.
