I'm not wowed — but Ant-Man has never wowed me as a character (in any of his incarnations). For what it is, it seems pretty good, the story is decently established, and the hints of action and the trademark Marvel humorous touch are also there.
I'm not as excited as I am about Avengers 2, but they'll get my movie theater money for this.

I agree, i actually found Pym's girlfriend/wife to be a more interesting character compared to both incarnations of Ant-Man. She wasn't a scientist and had common sense. As for movies though, i've always liked the ones that "explore" the world from a microscopic point of view. The old one with Dennis Quaid comes to mind lol

You were never impressed with Ant-Man? Man go watch Ultimate Avengers 1 and 2 and you'd immediately change, they portrayed his character so good in those. By the looks of this trailer I think they might ruin it for me.

At least they're doing an interesting version in Scott Lang. I've always like him as opposed to Pym.
Speaking of which, I'm not thrilled on their choice to play Pym. Everytime I see Michael Douglas on screen, I half expect Karl Malden to pop up….maybe I just watch too much old t.v. 🙂
+Mark Means My daughter, who's just been exposed to the Pym Ant-Man, was disappointed that this was a different one. But I think it will make for a better story.

Ant-Man has never been one of my favorite characters, although I did like Lang more than Pym as the character. I wonder if they might be going (roughly) with the comic book origin of Lang's Ant-Man.
it's been a while but i believe it focused on Lang trying to steal Pym's inventions to get money to help his sick daughter. Looks like the movie Pym will be more of a mentor than the comic Pym but focus on family and the daughter makes me think the stories could be similar.
+Marty Shaw I think that's the direction they are going. The family aspect is a nice touch, both as part of Lang's canonical story and as something missing heretofore in the MCU.
Scott Lang's first appearance in Marvel Premiere #47 impressed me greatly back in '79. Michelinie, Byrne, and Layton? It doesn't get much better than that!
I hope the movie can capture some of what made the comic an instant favorite of mine.
+BadNews Kelly Leak I've been trying to remember what the name of it was; now i'm going to find it and let the good times roll 🙂 It's one of my favorite movies from the days of being a kid. Universal Studios made a fun ride based off that movie; sadly it's gone now.
+Dave Hill I've read some of the casting rumors, but i stopped reading those as well. Evangeline Lilly (from the show Lost) is in it, not sure what character though. So i think it may be pretty good. I don't watch too many trailers these days since they have a tendency to spoil what should be surprise twists.
