Has there ever been an intellectual property deal like this? Sony agreeing to Spidey appearing in some Disney/Marvel films, but neither side is paying anything, exercising creative control, and both studios are planning things for the character — who (it sounds like) will be played by the same (new) actor in both worlds (at least at such time as Sony makes an explicit Spidey film).

Maybe Sony thinks Marvel with re re boot Spider-Man right, sprinkle some Avengers sparkle on him, and then they can take it from there. Because they’re not very good at the right part.
