His writing never quite clicked for me, aside from his collaboration with Neil Gaiman on Good Omens. But a lot of folk I know adored and respected him, and I think his body of work will live on for some time.

I read his first book and came away unimpressed. Then, many years later, I came across the “Wee Free Men” and was utterly astonished. Somewhere in there, he found his voice and was making insightful social commentary wrapped up in hilarious crazy fun. Suddenly, I was reading everything I could find. I decided that his first books about the three witches, starting with “Equal Rites” were the start of his really good stuff. All of the Sam Vimes books, and the books about Death, were just a delight. I am sad that no more of his stories (and we all know how dangerous those are!) will be forthcoming.
Oh, I like his Discworld books. In fact, our LotRO Kinship is called "Carpe Jugulum."
