Because of course it will.
Not that it bothers me — I have a four-headed DVR and I'm not afraid to use it. But for folk who watch stuff (shudder) live, it will make for some annoying times.
More interesting is the question of whether Supergirl exists in the same DC TV Universe as Arrow and Flash — since the Supergirl synopsis makes it clear that Superman is publicly known, which doesn't jibe with some of the worldbuilding in the latter two shows.

UPDATE: CBS’ SUPERGIRL Has A Superman, & Will Go Head-To-Head Against GOTHAM
Supergirl has officially been picked up for series by CBS.
Sounds like a good show, but a disastrous timeslot.
It sounds like running Firefly at the same timeslot as Farscape….destined to do bad things.
Doesn't matter for me. Stuff doesn't show up on Hulu till the next day and almost nothing from CBS shows up on Hulu anyway.
+Greg Stockton It's a classic programming thing. "We will defeat their success by running something in the same genre directly opposite it! Besides, we know people who like that genre like to watch shows then!"
Second only to "We're not sure what to do with this weird show, so we'll put it opposite the blockbuster the opposition has because, well, heck, if it fails, who cares?"
CBS is pretty pointless to me at this stage except as a broadcast network. Since they're not on Hulu or Amazon, I won't be watching this show until (maybe) it shows up on Netflix. But I would have thought that DC/WB would have fought harder to keep their properties from competing against each other.
