Modern ruins, in fact. When I see a large structure that is in decay, it always fills me with both fascination and sadness. The fascination is to do with something permanent being transitory, and how it changes: decay, overgrowth, rust, the elements, animals, softening and sagging and snapping and crumbling. The sadness is the loss of something that people labored over, that had a purpose once but no longer: a commentary on the mortality of humanity and its works, from "Ozymandias" to each one of us.

I am highly impressed by most of these. Many of these relics are well worth saving. Unlike the Ozymandias statue, there are no boastful messages in sight.
+MJ NYC Aside the inherent boast of creating things of beauty (and/or power) and expecting them to last.
Great pics. Nothing lasts forever. Sometimes I find great satisfaction in the current state of something in transition.
