I strongly suspect Schiphol's baggage handling is a lot more sophisticated than a lot of airports around the world, including the US. This looks like the kind of automation that Denver was striving for (and spent bazillions of dollars not getting) when DIA was built.
Still, it's darned fascinating, sort of a cross between the Monsters, Inc. hall-of-closet-doors and a First Person Shooter. Only with luggage and fewer monsters.
