And then there were only eleventy-dozen.
I have to think that Perry might have done better in a less over-crowded field than he's been in this election cycle. I don't recall him saying anything notoriously stupid this time — though, to be fair, I don't recall him saying much of anything at all. Between the Presumptive Front Runner Who Hasn't (Bush) and the Trump / Carson / Cruz / Huckabee Zany Wagon, and the plethora of other governors (Scott, Walker, Jindal), Perry just couldn't squeeze in edgewise.
I never thought his chances were good, mind you. But in the hothouse overgrowth of the GOP nomination greenhouse, he never stood a chance.
But why has god abandoned Rick Perry?
+Stan Pedzick Because Cruz is more devout, and Trump has more miraculous hair.
+Dave Hill true, Trump's hair is some thing to ponder.
I wouldn't have called him as the first casualty (I mean, freaking Pataki is still in the race), but the evangelical vote is pretty heavily divided. Every strength or point of appeal he had, he shared with another more popular candidate.
