Ruh-roh — I hate it when something I like gets sold

I've been a huge fan of LastPass for years — it provides me with all sorts of internal tools to promote good password usage on websites I register at.

I am not at all happy that they are being bought, since, inevitably, that means a change in priorities. Here's hoping that the LogMeIn people realize the gem they have acquired , not for how they can squeeze extra money out of, but as something that will draw more people to them.

Not sure how I feel about this. I've never been a big fan of LogMeIn (it seems like paying for something you can already do with the OS). Will be keeping a close on eye on how this develops and maybe looking into a different password manager.

  1. It's called Remote Desktop Connection and it's been around since Windows XP. Contrary to popular belief, it can be used over the Internet though admittedly it takes more preparation than LogMeIn does. You can even install Microsoft Remote Desktop on your Android or Apple device to access other computers with.

Or, as Dave mentioned, there are a number of other alternatives none of which cost money such as Chrome Remote Desktop (which I make use of to manage my mother's PC from afar), VNC, Teamviewer (free for personal use), and on and on and on. You can find a full list of both commercial and Open Source remote desktop software on Wikipedia.

  2. it is with great trepidation (sp?) that I mention to you impressive gents that it seems more likely the holy grail of truth about what was found at the ufo roswell crash is now being solved by me, amazingly, enough. in a recent book I found that is not recent but from 1980. a William moore and Charles Berlitz book about the roswell crash is a transcript of the man who searched the debris field…the words that I paraphrase here are: "a small black metallic box several inches long and several inches wide was on the ground. it could not be opened…I told him to put it in the (vehicle) with all the other stuff."…gentlemen you now have the key to unlocking the coverup. the black box was a ET tablet or iPhone or smart phone in its first construction, that is, it is the working sign of proof not only of the truth of the ufo crash at roswell being from ET, it is a realization of what happened since 1947, re engineering the alien technology where possible. my discovery of this link, and my deduction was made in sept 2015. not too long ago. my words or posts are not allowed to the mainstream by google plus.that is why nothing I work on is in the news when most of what I work on should be…have a nice day…this is FYI only…do with the comment here as you wish.

  3. So clearly the Roswell UFO crashed because they couldn't remember the password for their emergency navigation system. If only they'd had an easy way to pull up those complicated 547-byte Krell decryption phrases …
