Okay, I get the idea that Hip Millennials prefer to lounge on the sofa and do their business email on their mobiles … but … really, Marriott? No desks in the redesigned rooms? As someone who has actually done work-work — laptop, stacks of papers, etc. — in a hotel room, this strikes me as fairly untenable.
Millennial audience out there (I know there are a few of you), are desks really all that horrifying and/or passe?

Considering that 90% of the time I've used the desk as a luggage rack, and have never used it for its intended purpose, I see no great loss here.
I've never really used the desk in a hotel room. But I'm generally not hanging out in the hotel room regardless, so I don't see what they could give me in that space that would be much better.
