I've always enjoyed Alex Kingston's River Song character on Doctor Who — even if I haven't always enjoyed the things Steven Moffat has done with her. The Christmas Special this year (which we watched last night in our post-returning-home daze) gives her a pretty good send-off, even if her (in retrospect) obtuseness early on was irksome. I'm glad she got a chance to play with Peter Capaldi, too.
