Just heard from the recruiter at my New Employer, and they have figured out how to get me in the office and working before the background check is formally finished (basically, as it was a public entity that was dragging their feet on this, they were able to use their own public entity resources to confirm things to their satisfaction).
So tomorrow … I start work! Huzzah!
(Remind me about this enthusiasm for getting up early and going to work in a week or two — I suspect it will have somewhat worn off. 🙂 )
Hooray!
Congratulations!!
Also, highest of fives!

So, +Dave Hill , how was the first day?
Oops …never mind. Timeline out of order for some reason. I see your report on the first day elsewhere.
+The Bruce, Mile High Reflections on the Second Day:
– Public sector jobs have some very interesting twists to them (political pressures, constituent sensitivity, open record laws).
– Man, we have a lot of meetings.
– I have been introduced to about sixty people. I think I can put name-to-face with about five of them.
– Good place. Feeling good.
