The Arapahoe HS Marching Band does mostly field competition, but they do march in a couple of events, usually kicking off the year with the Littleton Western Welcome Parade. This year they got to do so after just two days of school (though a couple weeks of long-hour band camp practice).
Unlike past years, the weather was quite clement, mid-70s, which was a nice way to start the season. I have no pix from the parade itself, since I was pulling the water wagon, but it was a good time for all. It was good to see +Kay Hill out there in uniform for her junior year, and as the (acting) flute section leader, as the section leader has fractured ankle.

Perhaps for her senior year you can pass the torch on being support and just enjoy the marching and performances.
+Stan Pedzick Nah. We enjoy it, and being around her and her friends. And we get to see plenty of performances.
I don't plan on being one of those "alumnus volunteers," however. This is a four-year commitment. 🙂
Marching Band was my social group in high school and college. Good times.
+Dan Eastwood I'd say that pretty much fits Katherine's experience, for high school at least (though she does have friends outside of band).
Me? I was a theater and speech nerd, with a side of choir.
Fractured ankle? hmmmmm…. how convenient ……… no chance that was "helped" along, was there?
😉
