I have no idea why this Dreamworks film isn't more popular than it is (unless it's because of the crappy poster). It's got a rollicking plot, great animation, and an excellent soundtrack. Probably one of my "Desert Island" collection.

4 stars and a heart.

Wow. One of your Desert Island picks? I'll have to take another look at it. I vaguely recall having seen it when it was first in theaters but honestly I recall almost nothing about it.
+The Bruce, Mile High I just have a great time every time I watch it. It's nothing tremendously deep (though it's got some interesting depth to it), but it's a lot of fun.
You're welcome t borrow our copy next time you are over.
Though, fwiw, IMDb notes: "This movie lost $125 million, which partially led to the sale of PDI/DreamWorks, the DreamWorks SKG animation department, being renamed DreamWorks Animation SKG in 2004." It also was the last 2D/cel animation feature from Dreamworks.
A contemporary analysis of why the film didn't do well (TL;DR: boys don't watch 2D cartoons — or, at least, preferred to go see "Finding Nemo" or "Terminator 3"): http://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/21/business/animated-film-is-latest-title-to-run-aground-at-dreamworks.html
That was the one where crew members bet each other on whether the world is flat or not, yes? If so, I concur.
+William Altman Something like that happens. Also bets on whether Sinbad survives certain adventures, etc. Not sure if that's unique to this Sinbad, but it's a thing that happens.
