Tweetizen Trump – 2017-03-08 "Women have a critical role!"

A bit more placid of a day, it looks like, Donald. No earth-shattering wiretapping conspiracies (what's going on with those, Donald?) or screams of rage. What did you find to talk about?

I feel sure that my friend @RandPaul will come along with the new and great health care program because he knows Obamacare is a disaster! [1*]

That's actually not a bad zinger, Donald, since Paul has come out against the House GOP health insurance reform package, along with a number of other conseravtives. But, then, the problem has always been that the GOP, for all their critiques over the ACA in general, have rarely been able to agree on the particulars, and so have been unable, after 7 years, to come up with a coherent plan that they can agree on.

So now you have Republicans toward the center complaining about the impact of Medicaid caps on the states, and you have Republicans on the right complaining about the whole idea that the government should be helping people getting health care at all.

And meanwhile — you're in an interesting position yourself, Donald. This isn't your plan. You don't really have one, just vague promises about repeal-and-replace. This is Paul Ryan (et al.)'s plan. You can't take too much credit for it, at least not yet, but you do need to stand beside it and call it "the new and great health care program."

(Note: it's not a health care program, it's a health insurance program. How do people afford insurance that meets their needs, because without it people cannot get adequate health care. There are a lot of ways to skin that cat, and the ACA chose one of the least efficient, which the AHCA carries on but makes even clunkier and less fair.)

Anyway, it's going to be interesting to see how this plays out, and it would even be amusing to watch Republican pragmatists and Republican ideologues and Republican pols and pundits duke it out, if there weren't people's lives on the line.

I have tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vital to the fabric of our society and our economy. [2*]

On International Women's Day, join me in honoring the critical role of women here in America & around the world. [3*]

After all, someone has to have pussies that can be grabbed, amirite?

But seriously (kind of), Donald, it's difficult to take "I have tremendous respect for women" seriously in turn, given your behavior, comments, and focus on women as largely being important through how they look and whether they come across. You may very well respect individual women, to the extent that you respect anyone, but as a collective group of human beings? Your record speaks far louder than your Tweets.

LinkedIn Workforce Report: January and February were the strongest consecutive months for hiring since August and September 2015 [4]

Wow! You beat an 18 month record, Donald! That's awesome! You even almost beat your predecessor's score in 2015 — keep on trying! Congratulations, and thanks for participating! Here's a gold star to lick and put on your report card, Donald … well done!

The report does show an uptick from Feb 2016 to Feb 2017.[5] Though it did show a drop from Jan 2017 — I hope you aren't slacking off on your job creation efforts, Donald, whatever they are.

The report notes:

'Hiring across the U.S. was 1.4% higher in February than in February 2016, and only 1.3% lower than January 2017. Two months doesn't make a trend, but it seems like the stronger hiring is being driven by elevated business confidence due to the new administration's promises to lower taxes and reduce regulations. It's unclear if this trend is sustainable, or merely a temporary blip on the radar, but we're keeping an eye on it.'

So there you go — be proud of all that you've accomplished just standing there, promising to do stuff!

U.S. private sector job creation surging with nearly 300K created last month. Much more than expected! [6] (with article link[7])

The article does note that job hiring in numerous sectors was higher in February, beyond predictions. This was credited in part to (again) your promises to reduce taxes and regulations, and in part to the unseasonably warm weather most of the country had in February. Hmmm, it would be nice if that were a trend you were paying any attention to, Donald …
