"We Report, You Comply"

No, it's not at all Orwellian that Trump Administration officials have dictated that all TV News Monitors at the FDA White Oak campus (at least) should be turned to Trump-friendly Fox News, and not to any other (presumably FAKE) news channels.

Or that they deny it.

Now, I have run across companies that do this. I've run across buildings that do it based on the complaints they claim they get. But those are presumably private entities who, if they want to put giant "Beloved Leader" posters of Trump on the wall they can do so.

It gets a bit more squicky when a government facilities office informs employees at a government site that "a decision from the current administration administrative officials has requested that all monitors, under our control, on the White Oak Campus, display FOX news," and then an FDA spokesman announces, "There was no directive or memorandum from the Administration that went out to employees about broadcast news channels displaying on monitors in common areas throughout the FDA's White Oak campus."

Oceania FDA TV sets have always been at war been tuned to Eastasia Fox News.

It's possible that this was a decision by the new local political head of the units at this campus, not from further up the food chain. But it still feels … untoward for a government official to tell government workers what channel they will be getting their news from at work.

CBS News confirms FDA researchers directed to display Fox News on “all monitors,” rather than CNN
