Two summers ago, +Kay Hill did a week-long archaeology program at the Crow Canyon center (mentioned here) outside Cortez, at the end of which we spent a long weekend in Mesa Verde National Park. So a lot of the places and stories and theories in the article are of passing familiarity.
It’s fascinating seeing the different ways that we use to figure out what might have happened in the past, and the mysteries and ambiguities that remain.
