The problems of the homeless are not trivial to solve, and not cheap, and not without risks … but by the same token, kicking the can (and the homeless) down the road, adopting a NIMBY attitude, running them out of town because they are addicts or crazy or poor or unseemly … and then (presumably) claiming to be an upstanding citizen, if not piously attending church on Sunday (or even Saturday) and considering oneself virtuous … seems highly inconsistent, if not irresponsible and cruel.
