Garth Ennis’ The Boys was one of my favorites while it was running. The over-the-top violence, cynicism, sex, and ragging on politics and the media and celebrity — well, duh, it was Garth Ennis — were a ton of fun, and something of a guilty pleasure.
Well, I’m tickled that Karl Urban is going to be Billy Butcher. Jack Quaid looks like he’ll look the part of Wee Hughie (the character was originally modeled by Darick Robertson after Simon Pegg).
How the show will actually run remains to be seen. That Preacher‘s Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are on executive producers and directors of the first episode should be a good sign.
Hmmm. Now I need to reread the (planned) 72-issue series again.
