So the Trumpists have thoughts on how to reorganize the federal government to make it more efficient.
Two thoughts:
1. Given the strong strain in Radical Right thought that looks to essentially geld / hamstring / abolish the federal government, any such proposals should be taken with a high degree of suspicion, even if they make surface sense.
2. Yeah, there are almost certainly ways in which a highly political and bureaucratic environment like the executive branch can be made more efficient.
3. On the other hand, beware lumping "enemies list" organizations together, esp. when there is no particular rationale for the consolidation. This is almost certainly a way to create a single throat to choke in budget negotiation. (E.g., the combination of the Labor and Education departments).

This is the comment I left on that Post article: "As with many other people, my daily outrage at the action (and inaction) of Trump and the Republicans in Congress has almost become background noise. At least what is finally emerging is an awareness of what separates the Trumpublicans from the rest of us: they don't believe that the goal of government is to improve lives. Their incompetence at governing may in some cases delay this worsening, but as is the case with the current immigration nightmare it is accelerating causing harm to real people. I look at governmental reengineering of the type described in this particular story and realize that, not only is this Administration proposal not intended to improve lives, it is designed to make living worse especially for those who need help. Also becoming crystal clear is that a (hopefully increasing) number of Americans believe that what is needed in government is not a preference for destruction, which is what we have now, but a positive vision of the future. Trump and the Republicans may enjoy chanting "Lock Her Up" but they provide no ideas about how to make things better for all."

The goal of government may be to improve lives overall, thats not to say it hasnt been subverted at the expense of some. Not wanting to hear it doesnt make it untrue.
Extrajudicial punishment may not be jail but it can be worse.
The end will not justify the means.
Despacito!
