There are a lot of people who will tell you that the US has always been a pro-US corporation bully; if so, Trump is stripping away any pretense to being anything else.
I mean, threatening third world countries with economic sanctions, treating to cut World Health Organization funding, if WHO passed a resolution supporting breast feeding rather than formula feeding?
The US will be a century trying to live down what this President (who was almost certainly a bottle baby) has done in less than two years.

Indeed, this is exceptionally ugly.
We have murdered a whole lot of Central Americans all for the benefit of United Fruit, so yes, this is just par for the course. The only real difference here is that we deferred to Russia.
+Stan Pedzick In recent decades — say the last half-century or so — there's at least been an attempt to distance official government action from that sort of thing. "Oh, that was back in the bad old days." "Oh, that was just an unfortunate result of dealing with commies / drug cartels." "Oh, we're definitely doing this other stuff over here you should pay attention to that shows our love and devotion to the rule of law and international democracy and development." One could at least argue, net-net, that the US was doing more good for the world than harm.
Trump seems openly gleeful about removing any such argument. As long as it doesn't piss off Russia.
