Answer? Not much. Because women’s pockets (esp. front pockets) suck. When they even exist.

Women’s Pockets are Inferior.
If you wear women’s clothes, you already know this. But now we’ve got the data to show it.

GDPA — Gender-Dependent Pocket Atrophy.
I shared this on my company's diversity chat, not only because of the topic but because I work at a company that does data visualization, and this article was a stellar example of it.
Repair guy here the other day was able to easily slide his Samsung phone into his front pocket. My front pocket would barely fit a credit card.
I've seen this time and again with female family and friends. I get frustrated enough when men's sports coats and other overwear have faux pockets — things too small to use, or just a patch of fabric sewn on closed, not an actual pocket. Having that be true for regular daily clothing must be maddening.

Haven't personally tried these yet, but..

I was talking with my wife about this the other day. I suggested that women should protest by deliberately not buying pants that didn't have functional pockets. She said despite their complaints, most women wouldn't participate in such a protest because they don't consider pockets more important than price or style.
+Keith Wilson There's some truth to the idea that this problem is perpetuated in part by the people being hurt by it. And that's because "form over function" has been inculcated on women (and on men regarding women) by the fashion (and pharma and cosmetic and every other) industry for many, many years (note the Dior quote in the story, “Men have pockets to keep things in, women for decoration.”)
She can't fit all those things from her purse in her pockets anyhow. And pants might be so tight that usable pockets…. would not be . Definitely form [fashion] over function. But hey. She's got another excuse to have another bag, right?
Many women prefer to not carry a purse. My wife often just carries a wallet and her phone.
I would rather skip the purse too.
Purses are awesome. They can also be a PitA. Ditto deep pockets. I just wish people were allowed to easily choose as they would.
