It's an interesting way to look at things, and some intriguing insights into what makes marriage successful based on people who have dealt with a lot of _un_successful marriages.
That said, I don't think there's anything shocking here. Having frank discussions before getting married, differentiating between what makes a good dating partner and what makes a good spouse, and realizing that you probably aren't going to change the things you dislike in your SO by marrying them, are all things that you can find in a lot of relationship books.
But it's good to hear them from people who regularly see demonstrations of what doesn't work.
