Remember when we hoped that presidential speechfying would edify the world, that it could help spread the principles of American democracy, that it might encourage foreign governments to pursue the angels of their better nature.
And then Trump happens.

But a spokesman for the Nigerian army says their decision to fire live rounds at protesters in Abuja was justified because they were armed, telling the BBC "this is what [Mr] Trump was talking about". ❞
Don't worry, Mr. President. It's just another of those "shithole" countries you keep referring to … apparently hanging on your every word.
