The Climate-Be-Damned President

Apparently even a treaty that has the support of major US businesses, GOP lawmakers, and the US Chamber of Commerce, can't get any traction in the Trump Administration because (a) it was originally proposed under his predecessor, which delenda est, and (b) it has implications in fighting climate change, which makes it utterly no-go for Donald Trump.

Also, you know, it's a treaty, which Trump is always convinced means a bad deal for the United States.

What’s Keeping Trump from Ratifying a Climate Treaty Even Republicans Support?
Republican senators and the Chamber of Commerce have urged Trump to back the Kigali Amendment on HFCs, saying it’s in the U.S.’s economic interest.

  1. Well, this is something that I deal with everyday in the industry that I work. First, I’m going to us the common name, Freon. I’ve been seeing my industry change for almost 30 years. Freon, as you know, is a gas that can be converted into a liquid form and then gas again. This invention, which has been around a long time, has changed lives and extended humans life spans.
We went from R12 to R124 and now the new and improved R-1234-yf version. With each internal, costs go up. Which, some might say is good for the climate. If you purchase a newer vehicle, the chances are it has the R-1234yf. If you need a/c work done, what used to cost about $150.00 will now cost close to $450.00. Good, some might say, we need to avert the climate catastrophe that is, 12 years away-that’s according to Ms. Ocasui-Cortez, or 10 years (since 1990) if you believe Al Gore. However, as many of the Pro Kilgali Accord have stated, Freon only accounts for 2% or less. The main cause of the concern is CO2 levels, which is 75%.
Many developing Nations, like India and Africa, oppose this Accord, which they should. Why shouldn’t they be able to enjoy their economical advancements like the rest of the developed Nations.
It’s the same group that’s tied to the Paris Accord. Which, punished the US(go figure) more than any other Country. The fact is that the US has decreased it’s CO2 emissions by almost 30% due to-wait for it-the development and drilling of Natural Gas.
But, all that makes too much sense. We must keep the lower classes in their place and not allow Third World Nations to join the in crowd.
Rant, Rant, Rant you are probably saying to yourself right now, which is kind of true. But, if one truly believes that by changing the way we live and the advancements that this product brings us, then you should consider how you’re going to use all your computer devices. Those servers need a lot of cooling.
The Earth has been through more “climate” changes than we can every imagine. We, as humans, have always been in a constant battle against nature for our survival. I guess I have faith in another entity other than climate change.
Climate change is occurring, but to believe it is because of our way of life is foolish to assume. Just ask Al Gore or Leonardo DiCaprio that the next time they’re flying around in their private jets. Or, ask all about all the a/c units he has on his house-oops, that’s right Al buys “carbon credits”. My bad.
