And +Doyce Testerman has started a weekly Star Wars RPG (based in the Rebels era, four years before Ep. IV), which had its kick-off session last night. We're playing it remotely, using a combination of Google Hangouts and Roll20 to provide the desktop display, die-rolling mechanics, video chat, etc. The actual game system is Fate Accelerated (FAE), which is nicely light-weight but designed to encourage character bits.
And when I say "we," I mean that, along with some others, both +Margie Kleerup and +Kay Hill are in the game, which is a first. Not that we needed another family time sink, but, hey, gaming. And, even better, our household WiFi stood up under multiple video transmissions …
What's the game about? Well go to http://www.starwars.com/games-apps/star-wars-crawl-creator/?cid=56c47d7de4b0f59eb794759d and click Begin for the opening crawl …
Below is my character, Aral Thoremain, an exiled noble of Naboo, who is less interested in Galactic freedom (maybe) than freeing his own world from Palpatine's tyranny. Oh, and maybe finding out who had his wife killed. That's a thing, too.

Good stuff, and I'm very much looking forward to further play.
So FATE and not the new cool FFG game that encourages Role Playing and character development.
+Stan Pedzick Given that pretty much everyone there had some experience in FATE or FAE, it seemed the appropriate platform.
So does the crawl do anything but the intro to A New Hope?
+Stan Pedzick It should come up with a modified crawl for the game.
Nope, pretty much ends at "Galaxy…"
+Stan Pedzick Well, this one ends on "galaxy …" too, but it starts as "Session 0.5". Not quite sure why it's not showing the right crawl, as it seems to work for others.
+Dave Hill so what is it supposed to show then?
It's a customized crawl:
EPISODE 0.5
A NEW REBEL OP
It is a period of growing rebellion. Various individuals, rejecting the injustice, militarism, and oppression of the Emperor, are uniting against the evil Galactic Empire.
One such group has traveled to BOTHAWUI for their first mission. Piloted by 'Akana Zorr, they include young scholar E'lir Migpa, cybernetic clone trooper CT-2941, combat engineer Kelvin Minovsky, and exiled Naboo noble Aral Tholemain.
Searched for by the Empire's sinister agents, the team also know this is a test by the Rebel Command. They will have to prove themselves, if they want to play a role in restoring freedom to the galaxy….
+Dave Hill cool! Yeah, none of that appeared at all.
Very weird.
