Is Clinton a fat-cat, cigar-chomping, screw-the-commoners one-percenter behind closed doors, talking with industry groups and business movers and shakers? No, she's distinctly not.
Do I wish she were a more on the progressive side of things? Yeah, I do.
Do I think she's so busy stuffing her pockets with Wall Street largess that she has no idea what progressive, liberal thinking is all about? Nope.
While the WikiLeaks materials have been, well, leaked at the behest of Russia and with the intent of showing how Clinton is some sort of Scroogess McDuck, what they instead show is someone who is sensitive to both the desires of the business community and the anxieties of the rest of the nation.
I have little doubt that Clinton will disappoint me in the White House, but far less than her asserted reputation would suggest, if these leaks are any indication — and, of course, quantum levels less than what Donald Trump has openly stated will be his self-benefiting economic policy.
