Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Monday Morning Music: the original National Geographic theme – Not my favorite rendition of the music, but cool enough.
- Google Visual Search: Future Mobile App to Let You Snap Photo, Get Info About It? – Sounds cool, but somehow all those HUDs of info in SF shows always seemed a lot more definitive than, say, Google results.
- Sausages, and science – Actually, I daresay most policy discussions, white papers, strategic missions, etc., both public and private, go through the same sort of sausage-making process. Anyone who wouldn’t mind their dinner table, water cooler, or bar counter conversation being recorded and transcribed for the general public can cast the first stone on this one.
- What if Al Gore were wrong about global warming? That would be great news. – Contrary to some anti-warming types, most people concerned and wanting to act on global warming aren’t doing so out of some desire to destroy Western Civilization, or to turn us into some eco-hippie socialist paradise. We’d actually really love it if it weren’t a problem — though, honestly, most of the actions which global warming suggests we need to do are things we ought to be doing for other reasons as well.
- “So, Verizon, about those doubled early termination fees…”
