Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- Google and Multivac – One of my favorite Asimov shorts.
- Backblaze a Finalist for a Crunchie – Beauty contests like this are irksome … but it would be cool to see someone beat MS and Google.

- America Is Cursed By God For Electing Barack Obama – “We’re not gathering to get press or impress anyone, but to pray to God — which requires we all gather at the Lincoln Memorial on a given day and invite all our congressional and Religious Right pals to join in.” Maybe the subject for prayer should be Matthew 6:5-6.

- Quist: Defeating liberals a bigger battle than defeating terrorism « Minnesota Independent: News. Politics. Media. – You just know that iif some Democrat said that defeating conservatives was a bigger battle than defeating terrorists, s/he would be pilloried by the Right for “politicizing” the War on Terror and downplaying the dangers of terrorism for poll points. I don’t expect to hear any of those folks complaining about Quist.

I think it’s funny that the “America is cursed” people are going to meet to pray on a pagan holiday.
And the international Labor Day, too.
***Dave, do you use Backblaze? If so, what do you think about it? I’m eventually going to replace my Mac OS X Server with an Intel box and don’t want to pay EMC’s outrageous cost for Retrospect 8 (which is pretty crappy as a backup solution, anyway).
Yup. I have all our home machines backing up to it. It turned out to be very handy doing a long of restores over the holidays. Quite happy with the product.
Welcome back, Dave.
Thanks!
