- Allen West Says The Palestinians Asking For Statehood Is Like Giving A State To The Appalachians – Actually, I’d much prefer to see a truly equal one-state solution. I’d also like a pony, and a rocket ship … and, regardless, I’m sure that West would object to a fully equal one-state solution.
- Ceremonial Deism – I’ve long been generally tolerant of ceremonial deism, both as a traditionalist, and because, of course, the ceremonial deism of the US is in line with my own belief system. But it’s becoming clear to me that the danger of ceremonial deism is not ceremonial deism per se, but the extent to which it is used as a club for sectarian (and authoritarian) purposes. Or, to put it another way, Christianists argue in courts that Christian-based ceremonial deism is merely a common social tradition … then turn around and argue that it proves that we are, in fact, a particular sectarian society and that anyone who doesn’t toe their religious line is simply not being a True American. In short, they are spoiling it for everyone (as the least of their sins).
- Pastor Mike has a plan – Appalling. Maybe some mandatory cloth badge would be helpful, too. If it comes to that, I’d be pleased to do an “I’m Spartacus” and stand alongside a minority being identified solely for the purpose of persecution and prejudice.

But it is so important to know just what the problems are before you decide how to fix them. Otherwise the things you do to try to solve those problems might just make them worse.”

10. This sounded interesting, so I shopped around. Fry’s has them for $9.99, and if you Colorado folks buy online you won’t even have to pay sales tax.
Might consider it for Margie’s computer.
