STEVE MARTIN: Let’s repeat the Non-Conformist Oath. I promise to be different.
AUDIENCE: I promise to be different.
STEVE MARTIN: I promise to be unique.
AUDIENCE: I promise to be unique.
STEVE MARTIN: I promise not to repeat things other people say.
AUDIENCE: I promise … [Dissolves into nervous laughter.]
We all think of ourselves as unique. So why, sometimes, for no apparent reason, do we each come up with the same answer?
I feel so lucky – I’m part of the really wierd 2%. I came up with a blue cresent wrench.
I was a blue hammer.
yellow sander.
Hmmmm. Either someone’s hypothesis is in trouble, or I have an abnormal unique readership.
Continuing my tradition of averageness, I said red hammer.
Gotta be my green utility knife. But that has been in blog twice of late, so no surprase there.
Blue Makita cordless drill – Well they are blue!
I love that Steve Martin bit! I have that entire album pretty much memorized.
And I thought of a Black & Decker cordless rechargable screwdriver (I want one badly) and green (favorite color). Glad to see I’m abnormal.
It said think of a tool and a color…not of a colored tool. I know the B&D screwdriver isn’t green.
I guess the crack is kicking in, because I missed the color…..I’m a Craftsman miter saw!!
The Non-conformists oath showed up at Occupy Pittsburgh!
