I’ve mixed feelings on this one. On the one hand, it’s great news that Denver Water will probably decide Monday to loosen water restrictions — either extending watering time per zone, or adding an extra day. Heaven knows, our yard can use it. Two days a week watering is just brutal when it’s as hot as it has been.
On the other hand, even with reservoirs back to normal levels far sooner than anyone had expected, we are still running out of water in this area. I hope that some level of restriction is left in place, to encourage folks to plant and irrigate more wisely, and to deal with inevitable future growth.
That may be a bit paternalistic of me, but I’d rather face the shortages of the future a little bit at a time, rather than all at once.
