At least, what he said some months back, before the first one opened. How would he (hypothetically) top the first installment?

Wow, that's refreshing for sequel talk. Too many sequels turn into "Let's take the five things that worked the first time, crank 'em up to 11, and leave everything else out." If Whedon can avoid that, Avengers 2 should be awesome.
