Since 1934, Congress has supported sugar trade tariffs. In a sign of the power of the sugar lobby, Hostess picked unions, not the lobby, to fight when it had to cut costs to stay in business.

Apart from the poor sods with no jobs any more, the absence of Twinkies, whatever those were, can only be an improvement. The now jobless workers should band together and start selling healthy food to people. If they do it by expropriating the now unused factories, do I care?
