Security from my trip yesterday.
Denver
Arriving at the airport at 5:30a may suck in many ways, but it sure gets you through lines quickly.
They’re still checking out the trunks of cars if they’re going into the parking garage, though there are rumors that will be dropped soon.
Professional, quick, friendly and thorough security lines.
Lots of TSA folks. They’ve also expanded the area at DIA for the security checkpoint, taking out the old phone/ATM banks (which are being moved elsewhere).
My notebook computer got swabbed, but I did not personally trigger any sort of alarm going through.
Los Angeles
More squished space to work in, but lines moved quickly, there were plenty of TSA personnel, and they were friendly and professional and thorough, too.
My notebook computer got swabbed, but I did not personally trigger any sort of alarm going through.
Unlike Denver, I had to run my sports coat through the X-ray machine.
Unlike Denver, they wanted my PDA, cell phone, change, etc., in a different bin than my notebook.
For the first time ever, someone actually dug through my brief case to figure out what that mass of cables was. It’s, well, a mass of cables (phone line, Ethernet cable, mouse, power adapter lines for the notebook, recharger for my Palm, connecting cable for my Palm, recharger for my cell phone, three-way plug, etc.). Everyone always stops and stares at the X-ray picture for a while, but the folks at LA finally took a real look at it.
