Well, that’s it, then. Twenty-four hours of blogging. The time passes so quickly, oddly enough. When you’ve logorrhea like mine, it’s … easier to find things to fill in the time and space than you might think.
At this point in the show, thanks are necessary:
- Thanks to Doyce, who turned me onto this madness, then had the decency to bring over Krispy Kreme donuts at 2 in the morning.
- Thanks to the Eurythmics, who got me through the last two-plus hours.
- Thanks to Creative Success Kitty, and/or whatever other metaphysical sources were assisting in the effort.
- To the fine person behind RandyRants.com, and , thus, SharpMT, which gave me the confidence to write really long bits of stuff without fear that I’d hit the wrong key and delete the whole thing.
- Thanks to the fine people at the Blogathon. They organized this shindig, and deserve major props for doing so. As of this writing, they managed to organize 432 participants, 2,988 sponsors, and so raise $86,205.95. They rock.
- Thanks, once again, to my sponsors: Mark D. McKean, Amanda Helstrom, Margie, Lester Norton, my folks, “G,” “M,” Doyce Testerman, Mary, Hilary Caws-Elwitt, Brian Peace, and Jim & Ginger. I, and the CBLDF, thank you. You made it worthwhile (literally), to the tune of $225. (You’ll get a gentle reminder from the Blogathon folks, and contact info for the CBLDF, sometime in the next few days.)
- Thank you to the CBLDF, for doing what they do.
- Thanks to the comic book industry, and particularly the creators — writers, artists, and others — whose work I’ve lauded here the last 24 hours. You have given me more enjoyment than I can express.
- And last, and most, thanks to Margie, who lent spiritual, emotional, logistical, and parental support to this effort, and who by and large makes possible most of the things I manage to do. She’s swell, and I can’t begin to say how lucky I am to have her by my side.
P.S. I realize there a few regular comics of mine that I didn’t mention, largely because I didn’t have a recent issue in hand. No more reviews (God, no!), but I’ll mention the talent, and tell you I recommend them all heartily: Powers (Bendis/Oeming), Sojourn (Marz/Land), Private Beach (Hahn), Top 10 (Moore/Ha), Castle Waiting (Medley).
Enjoy. I’m going to bed.
Good night, everybody!
*sniffle* I also sponsored you, ***Dave. Was not here to witness it, alas. May need to spend a few days catching up on what you’ve posted.
But I’m glad you made it through!
You used SharpMT for your entire Blog-a-thon? Dude, you freakin’ RULE! I can’t think of a better tester!
Julia, since you pledged anonymously, and using your “glynith” tag, you’re the “G” I refer to above. I didn’t forget you!
Randy, aside from a couple of rough corners I’d like to file down, SharpMT worked just great. I wish the data entry areas were resizeable (or larger), and I wish the text-selection stuff worked the same as web forms (what selects when you double-click, how selections stay or don’t when you both bold and italicize text), but those were minor quibbles. I’m also not wowed by the file upload mechanics.
Aaand, I’d like the ability to have multiple edit windows open (be working on multiple entries at the same time, rather than have to save and open a new one).
Aaaaand … I need to download 1.2. 🙂
But … in terms of writing something and saving it in midstream and not worrying about it, SharpMT rocks.
