Just for my being, here, I guess, we had an earthquake. Cool. Been a while since I’ve felt one of those.
(A gentle squeaking and rolling here on the 3rd floor, like a very fat man stomping along in the corridor. Pretty small, or else far away. More as I learn of it.)
Magnitude 6.5, above San Luis Obispo, near Cambria. That’s a pretty big one to be on top of. So make that in the “far away” category, about 185 miles from us here in Pasadena.
I did not feel it in Riverside.
If I had, I would have submitted my info to the USGS.
Only one report came in from my ZIP code, estimating the intensity at 3.
And Margie didn’t feel it off in north Orange Co.
I don’t know if I would have felt it on the ground. Being in a multi-story building, though, multiplies the effects.
Some buildings were destroyed in Paso Robles, whereabouts we vacation each summer. Ouch. A lot of wineries in that area — there may be a lot of as-yet-unreported damage.
