After careful consideration of corporate concerns, departmental strategies, career path options, and industry trends, I pinged my boss with the most important question I could think of to ask him re the new interim CIO and our path forward:
Do we still have to wear ties?
He found that quite amusing.
He did note that as far as he was concerned, his people at my level still had to wear ties until otherwise directed.
Rats.
Though he also noted that he’d seen the interim CIO in the office on Friday in just a polo shirt (albeit one with a company logo), so opined that a more casual Friday might be allowed.
