Is “Tess Terbonne” a play on the name of the Bloom County characater “Tess Turbo”? She was the rock singer, and she was inspired by “Joan Jett” the real-life rock singer.
It’s more twisted than that. She’s a play on the name 9and, to a lesser degree, the appearance) of Tess Turbine, who appeared in a Powerpuff Girls comic I was reading to Katherine. Her name may, in fact, be a play on Tess Turbo, etc.
