Feast and famine

A weekend of intense play, with long gaps in-between …
Friday night I crashed early.
Saturday night, I got back home at 8:40 or so, and immediately dove into the Consortium Meet-n-Greet. It was actually trememdous fun, even if it meant standing around and chatting, vs. going out and bopping bad guys. Maybe this RP stuff has something to it …

Since both Margie and I were there (as Psi-clone and Amorpha, of course), we were able to slip out a couple of times and bring in alts — Torchielle, in my case; Star Protector and Kazima in Margie’s.
I was actually kind of pleased to see so many folks come to the party, and to have it last so long. I figured it would go maybe an hour; instead, it was still going strong when I wandered upstairs at midnight.
Lots of RL stuff on Sunday, meaning I didn’t get on until just in time to join in the interview of some applicants to the Alliance (again as Psi-clone). It was interesting being on the “other” side of the interview, as we chitchatted on the Team channel (between the interviewers) all sorts of comments, not to mention how we’d deal if the event became a super-hero battle.
After that, Margie and I took Velvet and P-siren out for the first time in about a week, clearing out Family and Council and Sky Raiders in Port Noble. Fun, even if we did go too late …
Ran across some of the infamous I4 bugs, too, including invisible villains (which were present in I3) (“Sky Raiders? Sky Raiders? Where?! And why are you taking damage?”), and villains that wouldn’t lie down and die when dead (though, interestingly, that seems to be an individual thing; folks for whom Velvet saw it didn’t show that behavior to P-siren, and vice-versa).

  1. Dave, Villians are able to hide now. That’s why peception stuff is very valuable. Puck with Tactics on see’s just about everything. Which was interesting on a later mission.
Went out with Puck late last night (after Mothers day festivities), First with Hawk Lad (Puck sooo want’s a pet tank of her very own now), and then with Volt-Man, Seventy-Six (great roleplayer that one), and Hushman on a timed Nemesis mission. Lots of fun. But it was odd that Puck got taken out by a group that I had missed in a room off a hallway. I could see them but the rest of the party could not, and they had no idea what had killed me either. I was most entertained by this development…just like knockback for villians.

  2. From the CoH site on new things from I4:
“Modification to Perception attribute: Increased Perception will now allow you to see stealthy foes or resist powers that reduce your Perception (like Smoke Grenade).
Enemies can reduce your Perception, so characters will get some resistance to such effects.
    Accuracy Inspirations now increase Perception.
Enemies can reduce your Perception, so characters will get some resistance to such effects.
Leadership/Tactics now offers increased Perception and resistance to Confuse.”
Now the other thing from I3 was just guys in the walls.

  3. No, this isn’t the “people in walls” thing. There was a known I3 bug — evidently carried into I4 — where a character would not be able to see certain mobs, even right in their face. It would reset by exiting and reentering the mission. That’s what happened last night with the Sky Raiders (who were then fully visible to Velvet when we re-entered).

  4. The party was fun! I’m glad it ran late, as I was also very late.
Some nice RP with Ring. He was sitting off by himself, as I would do in RL, so I talked to him. One of those pushy pedestrians knocked him off the planter, which led to his finding a transmitter she had planted on him. he gave it to me, and I’m going to place it in a Banished Pantheon lair tonight!
Got some good advice on fighting the BP. Guess I’ll start taking the Stealth pool powers next. Not sure I want to do a respec to get them; I don’t really want to lose anything I already have.
Stateswoman informed me that the Coalition channel was active. I have some help now for the timed mission against the BP. >whew

  5. Nice shot from later in the evening I see.
    So Kazima talking to Darkthorne.
Puck, Avo, Blue, 76, and one person I don’t recognize.
    Psi and Panik.
    States and P1.
Cap’n Carnage Space Cadet Go(!), Cobalt, and Burncycle.
    Pizzaz all by herself.
    Nice shot.

  6. That’s Ring, sitting there by the tree, moping (before the not-so-innocent pedestrian knocked him onto the ground).
    Dave, the e-mail for Psi-Clone was in-game.
