Veterans Daze

So the first year’s worth of Veteran Rewards are up.

  • 3 Months: TrustworthyTrenchcoats! (Look okay, but not great. Available in sleeved and sleeveless. The backs flare out like capes, so no real “closed” trenchcoats. Still, better than nothing. Comes with one costume token for each character.)
  • 6 Months: FaithfulGreeks! (I.e., Greek letters become available for costumes. Hmmm … Psi-clone could use that … Comes with one costume token for each character.)
  • 9 Months: DependableKilts! (Male and Huge get kilts. Females get belly shirts — big whoop, as a lot of female characters have already bare midriffs, yes? Comes with one costume token for each character and … a Respec!)
  • 12 Months: LoyalWeapons! Sprints! (Choice between permanent Undead “Slayer” Axe or Sands of Mu. Cool. Plus Base equipment to show off various “captured” villain weapons. Finally, the old “pre-purchase” Rush, Dash, Quick, Surge sprint powers become available.)

Each of these also come with badges (named as shown).

Overall, pretty cool. Not huge — nobody’s going to be at a real disadvantage by not having these things (well, having Sands of Mu or, resumably, the Axe, is an advantage — Lynn enjoyed the semi-permanent SoM when temp items were broken), but they add a bit of fun-ness.

More stuff to be announced anon — including, presumably, the wings …

  1. Wow, there is no bad there. 🙂
I will assume the Greek Letter, will be for Psi-Clone’s “Golden Age” Costume.
Puck will love to have Sands of Mu for those times when she get’s mobbed.
    Yay! Trench coats! 🙂
Heck, I was hoping for a tank top, not a belly shirt.
Coolness, trophy items…Hopefully you do not need a special room for this.
P.S. Okay, I am thinking that it is Typekey that is causing the posting problems. It is making me sign in every time now and not the two weeks I click.

  2. There used to be female tank tops… weird that they’re gone…
What the heck are “the old “pre-purchase” Rush, Dash, Quick, Surge sprint powers”?
Really like that extra permanent weapon thing — other than my blasters/scrappers or someone like Hype whose gotten into the Epic attack pool stuff, I can’t think of anyone would wouldn’t benefit from one more option in their attack chain: Pummelcite’s been very very happy with the way the time is now tracked on stuff like the Croatoa Iron Sword or the Nem staff — I remember that ‘one mission only’ undead-slaying axe with a great deal of fondness.
… though, personally, I’d rather get an neverending supply of Electromagnetic Grenades — combined with Build Up/Focus Chi type powers, they’re pure AoE death on Freakshow.

  3. 1. Typekey is acting a little wonky for me, too.
    2. Actually, a tasteful psi on the coat breast might be even better than the eyeball logo.
    3. Like I said, Lynn loved Sands of Mu for several weeks while temp powers were not-temp. A definite add to the attack chain — and even if it swished more (because it couldn’t be enhanced) it was still pretty keen. Wappita-wappita-wappita …
Though, honestly, I thought it should be more … well a different animation than Shadow Maul.
    4. There are still female tank tops — well, not actual tank tops, but the skin-tight costumes / sports bras that are pretty close.
    5. I’m thinking the “old ‘pre-purchase’ stuff” is the bonus box-set special gold/platinum stuff (sort of like energy slide) that was available in various places.

  4. You were able to get one of the sprint variations (Rush, Dash, Quick, Surge) if you pre-ordered from specific stores, similar to the COV pre-order helmets. Best Buy’s was Dash, but I don’t remember the others.
