CO: Having fun again

I spent most of the free hours of the weekend — which were not as many as I’d have liked — playing Champs with Margie.  We basically carved our way through levels 15-17, and are now leveling up to 18, leaving the Westside of Millennium behind for what looks like all new stuff up north of Renaissance Center.

We were playing with Kitsune (Dual Blades) and Surprise (Electricity), and the two are doing pretty nasty AoE damage to mobs.  We can still get defeated, but it didn’t happen much (and rarely did both of us go down).  Nice.

Still finding myself annoyed by Acrobatics and the “I just ran past some gray mobs and they’re still plonking me and I’m slowed to a crawl, boo-hiss” syndrome.  Looking at getting Versatility next time I get some enhancements to play with.

  1. The Electricity AoE is the best I have seen in game so far, especially after all the Darkness Powers got nerfed last week due to PvP whining.

Acrobatics suffers from the same limitations that all the powers that are not some form of flying suffer from (except for Tunnelling, where the only bene is not having folks aggro on you).

So, you are staying the straight frameworks on your tunes? If not, there is a nice buff other power and rez power in Celestial.

    Amusing, “with Shreve”.

  2. Margie is looooooving her Electricity AoE. Between the two of us, the HP just melt away.

I tend to stick to fairly straight frameworks on the main powers; for some of the buffs and clickies and passives I shop around.

  3. Looks like you need to get some stealth!

I’m up to 26 or 27 with Artillery MKII (Gadgets/Power Armor) and really liking the combo. I’m stuck at stopping Menton and it’s a big enough time sink that I’ve got to find some dedicated play time.

Meanwhile I’m playing a dedicated trio with several other Repeat Offenders folks. I’m trying out Celestial/Sorcery combo [I create an Eternal knock off!] and that’s very fun, but does point out the limitations of teaming in an open zone.
