Per Cricket, the Halloween Event should start today after server maintenance is over (about 9 a.m. MDT). The event runs until 10 p.m. on Wednesday, 1 Nov.
Feeling slightly torn — we’re on a roll with H&T, and the whole Halloween Event doesn’t sound all that interesting. We’ll probably do a bit of beating folks up for a while until it palls or we get the 5th costume slot or whatever, then get back to serious business.
I spent an evening and got all five badges for the monsters from the doors, as well as 4 sets of the items required to unlock the 5th costume slot.
I might try and get the items on another alt, but I’m not bothering to try for every badge on every alt.
Those who like that sort of thing will find it the sort of thing they like.
It was ghod-awful boring. Doing it with Mal meant no XP, fractional prestige, and the sort of vague feelings of accomplishment that went along with getting extra costumes for a few people in the SG who might want ’em.
However, Mal’s army of Invisible Friends allowed him to remain safe while his player caught up on a movie, the adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s “Mother Night”.
The movie was pretty good, and it allowed me to feel as if I hadn’t wasted an evening clicking a mouse for no good reason.
((Thank you to BD for keeping me company as we slogged though this.))
I hope to get the CoJ alt out to play with Hildy and Torchy again soon. That’s always fun.
It’s nice having T along — mixes up the “SOP Again” syndrome.
The last time, I managed to not ruin Hildy’s attempts to herd.
At least not the last few times she got the herd together for Torchy.
Herd is just a convience/habit. When you are along it is not really needed. I will point out that it allow you to have more targets for your big AOE buffs.
See, doesn’t matter to Hildy. For Torchy, though, I like to be a good Christian about it — “where ever three or four are gathered in my flame” or something like that.
I’m afraid that I know very little of the New Testament.
Would you be kind enough to give the full passage?
(And I shall be prepared to be ashamed if it turns out to be from the Old.)
It’s my (clearly lame) take-off on the (New Testament, Matthew 18:19-21) assurance by Jesus, “Whenever two or three are gathered in my name … [I am with them.]”
Or, if you like, there’s the Episcopalian variant, “wherever three or four are gathered, there’s a fifth” — an insider joke over our propensity toward drinking on social occasions … 🙂
