You cannot do the South without Pralines!
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ c sugar
- ¾ c packed brown sugar
- 6 Tab butter
- ½ c milk
- 1½ c pecans, chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
- Combine the sugar, brown sugar, butter, milk and pecans in a heavy 3 quart saucepan.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Boil for 1 ½ to 2 minutes or until mixture reaches 220 degrees on a candy thermometer, stirring constantly.
- Remove from the heat.
- Stir in the vanilla immediately and beat with a wooden spoon for 4 – 6 minutes or until the mixture begins to thicken.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
- Let stand until firm.
