Since the Supreme Court has made it pretty clear that this is illegal / unconstitutional activity, one does have to wonder why state legislatures keep trying this:
– Hoping that nobody will notice?
– Hoping that SCOTUS will change its mind?
– Because they hate scientists and want to make them cry?
– As a defiant declaration of their mighty spiritual beliefs?
– As a way to garner political support?
I wish they'd stop it, regardless. #ddtb
