Religious Celebrations for Me, but Not for Thee

So because (1) Santa Monica had to give everyone a chance to put up holiday displays because the Constitution, and (2) it led to vandalism of non-Christian displays last year, and (3) Santa Monica decided this year to skip the whole mess and let people put up whatever holiday displays they wanted on private property, then (4) this is some big atheist plot to KILL CHRISTMAS.

I love Christmas. I love a good Nativity. But I don't see any reason why any city needs to stage one on public land, if other folks don't get to have their  religious bits and bobs on display as well.

Pat Robertson, of course (and not he alone) don't see it that way. If Christianity doesn't get special treatment, then it's being oppressed.  Which doesn't make any sense, but …

  1. One of my least favorite things about this time of the year. Of course, I realize that many people believe Nothing Says Christmas Like A Giant Blow Up Baby Jesus.

    Pat should go back to excusing philandering husbands.

    1. As I’ve said several times before, I really with Pat’s handlers would let him retire. He’s become progressively more of an embarrassment (unintentionally) to his own cause.
